Jonah
Street was a 'revelation' in the 2006 Dakar. In his first Dakar Rally, he
competed with and beat some of the big factory teams. He placed in
the top 5 in three different stages, and announced his presence to the
world rally community. In the 2007 Rally, he was running in 4th
position overall when he suffered engine failure and was forced to
retire.
In the 2009 Dakar Rally, Jonah again
showed his toughness and talent. Riding with a previously injured
wrist, he spent the first week of the rally in the top three overall, and
won stage 5 by over five minutes. Unfortunately, he was forced to
retire on Stage 8 due to the injury.
He has
been racing for years, with many race wins and championships in the
SCORE and Best in the Desert series.
He is
now looking forward to heading back to Dakar in 2010!
